Incomplete brief

A winch electric hoist request that only names a search string leaves duty class, voltage and mount open. Factories then quote different objects.

Comparable brief

The same winch electric hoist line lists lifts per hour, feeder, hook or trolley interface and which site extras stay excluded.

This page explains duty, power and interface questions. It does not declare a compliance outcome, an energy saving or a ranked winner.

Duty and interface worksheet

Use the table as a checklist while writing the RFQ. Checking a row does not calculate a discount and does not certify a factory.

Question still open What the factory must reprint What stays buyer-owned Reject if missing
Duty class Stated class or equivalent plus assumed lifts per hour Actual duty cycle in the building A class copied from another model series
Rated capacity Capacity with the hook block or trolley included Application load and load path A bare tonnage without units
Lift height Hook travel in in or mm Available headroom and lowered height A catalog default unused on site
Power V, phase and Hz, or shop air if mixed Building feeder and available kVA 115 V assumed for a 460 V room
Interface Hook, lug or trolley type Existing runway or monorail geometry An alternative that changes the beam

Substitute checks before you accept another line

Different drum or chain path

A wire rope electric hoist is not an automatic substitute for a chain unit. Drum length, fleet angle and chain pocket geometry belong on separate quantity lines.

Different voltage

Single-phase and three-phase supply are not interchangeable without a written feeder note. Ask the factory to reprint the exact voltage they intend to ship.

Different mount

Hook mount versus trolley changes the steel the buyer already owns. Do not accept a substitute that silently moves that work onto the site crew.

Freeze the still-open questions

Send the winch electric hoist notes with quantity and destination. We restate the open duty and interface items; we do not certify the finished installation.
